An epic of Al Andalus

The show

In co-production

For the 22nd edition of the Andalou Festival, the festival and the Chandalous ensemble from Avignon are collaborating on a music program under the direction of maestro Fouad Didi.

This event sheds light on the Arab and Andalusian origins of a musicography developed since the 9th century, which draws its sources both in the East and in the West, along a crescent which would link Damascus to Zaragoza.

A journey from Andalusia to Damascus via Fez, Oujda, Tlemcen and Tunis, punctuated by scholarly and popular music associated with literary, historical and philosophical texts of major importance.

A multicultural event which brings together artists from different countries on the shore of the Mediterranean and which gives rise to initiatives which become projects in alliance with other Mediterranean entities.

With: Tarab Orchestra with Fouad DIDI (violin, oud, vocals), Youssef Kasbadji (derbouka), Farid Zebroune (banjo, mandola), Zak (keyboard-piano), Ensemble vocal Chandalous d'Avignon (vocals)
