1941 Paris is occupied. Picasso confronts a German cultural attaché, Miss Fischer, in a warehouse where works of art stolen from the Jews are stored. He must authenticate three of his paintings intended for an exhibition of “Degenerate Art” the highlight of which will be an auto-da-fé. How will Picasso prevent their destruction? Certainly Miss Fischer seems committed to the Nazi cause, but she is fascinated by the beauty of the master's works. Perhaps this is the flaw that will allow him to save his paintings? Then begins a confrontation full of seduction, cunning, violence and ambiguity, in which an essential battle is played out: the defense of the artist's freedom in the face of totalitarian barbarism which always seeks to destroy it.
“The resemblance of the great Bouvier to the young bull leads to immediate support. He didn't look like Picasso. He found it within himself. And that’s what captivates you in this moment of jousting, bitter confrontations and mischievous dodges.” — Armelle Heliot, Le Figaro; “A magnificent lesson in interpretation.” — Frédéric Perez, Spectatif “A monstrous punch, a must-see” — Guillaume d'Azemar de Frabegues, I only have one life “It's a bullfight in the basement! And a sensual fight. (…) The performance of the actors is intense! » — Gilles Costaz, WebThéâtre “A flamboyant success. » — Nicolas Arnstam, Froggy's Delight
