RED SONG
Marco Ema in concert
Taking the indie rock scene by storm, Marco Ema appears as a breath of fresh air in the Quebec landscape. The critical success of his first album, Where our bodies go to die, released in November 2021, allowed him to be named iHeartRadio Future Star for April 2022 on Énergie with his song Amy. Directed by Simon Pedneault (Lou-Adriane Cassidy, Gabrielle Shonk, Tire le Coyote), Marco sets to music stories that resemble coming-of-age films which skillfully approach the transition to adult life, with all the emotions and the resulting excesses.
In 2022, the artist's career takes off and his projects are brilliantly acclaimed by critics: his three sessions at Studio Makina with Léa Jarry, Kinkead and Ariane Roy have become iconic and Marco then embarked on a major summer tour with memorable concerts, notably at the Francos de Montréal and the Francos de Spa in Belgium.
In spring 2023, Marco presents Buzz, the first single from this second album, which features catchy lyrics and a rhythm that will make you tap your feet and nod your head. Then come the singles Cinéma Paradiso as well as Cool and Branched, melodic songs that personally invite us to take part in Marco's colorful world, brilliantly depicted by the sometimes deep, but always light lyrics.
It is on October 27, 2023 that the artist presents Anyway, Mommy Love, a more rock album composed of twelve songs, which pays tribute to his father, who unfortunately left him in 2022. We find in Anyway, Mommy Love a greater diversity of instruments and longer songs, with a structure tending towards prog, as well as a central concept inspired by cinema.
