Neither a musical, nor a concert, nor a stand-up, nor a play… but all of this at the same time!

Through her songs and her confidences, HEDWIG, an East German transgender rock singer “ignored internationally”, accompanied by her backing vocalist and husband Yitzhak and her group “The Angry Inch”, recounts her chaotic journey: her adolescence as a bad boy in East Berlin, her fascination with rock and her desire for freedom, her transformation into Hedwig after a botched operation which allowed her to leave Germany as the wife of an American sergeant...

Neither man nor woman, between queer humor and trashy confidences, HEDWIG, in the middle of the ford, shakes up all the codes of decorum, and above all tells the story of his first love who became one of the biggest rock stars he/she never stops pursuing...

On stage, Hedwig is played by Brice Hillairet (Molière de la Révélation 2020). He is accompanied by Anthéa Chauvière (in the role of Ythzak) and four musicians: Lucie Wendremaire, Louis Buisset, Antonin Holub and Raphaël Sanchez. The adaptation and direction are by Dominique Guillo.
